The questions people ask about Ploud

What is Ploud?

Ploud is a French cloud gaming operator that rents dedicated physical PlayStation 5 consoles by the hour, hosted in France. The customer connects from a browser and plays their own games, with their own PlayStation Network account.

Does Ploud supply the games?

No. Ploud rents console time and supplies no video games. The right to rent out a game belongs to its publisher: no service can rent out a title without their consent, whereas renting a machine is lawful. Customers bring their PlayStation Network account and the games they have bought.

How does Ploud differ from GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming?

Ploud assigns you a whole physical PlayStation 5, not a virtual PC or a negotiated catalogue. That is what makes the PlayStation exclusives Sony no longer ports to PC accessible, along with GTA 6, which has no PC version announced. GeForce Now and Boosteroid stream Windows games, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Amazon Luna stream a catalogue chosen by their publisher.

Is Ploud a subscription?

No. Ploud sells an hours credit that never expires and never renews. The rate slides, from €3.97 per hour on the 30-hour tier to €2.68 per hour on the 160-hour one. An hour played between 2 am and 8 am only counts as half, and an idle console is never billed.

Where are Ploud's consoles?

In France. Ploud's PlayStation 5 consoles and their network infrastructure are hosted in France, which shortens the network path to French players. The sign-up database is in Ireland, so within the European Union: no transfer outside the European Union is in place.

Which devices does Ploud work on?

Ploud works in a browser tab on Mac, Windows PC, Linux and ChromeOS, with nothing to install. On a Google TV or Android TV set, Ploud goes through the free Moonlight app, with no box to buy. The DualSense controller connects over Bluetooth or USB, and any controller the system recognises works.

What latency and what connection does Ploud need?

Ploud targets 60 to 100 ms of end-to-end latency, screen not included, at 1080p and 60 frames per second in HDR10. A 25 Mbit/s download connection is enough, 40 Mbit/s gives headroom, and line consistency matters more than bandwidth. The ploud.cloud eligibility test measures both in thirty seconds, with no sign-up.

Are saves and installed games kept at Ploud?

Yes. Ploud reassigns you the same physical console each session and reserves 200 GB of storage per customer, which avoids re-downloading games and keeps saves between sessions.

How much does Ploud cost to finish GTA 6?

GTA 6 comes out on 19 November 2026 with no PC version announced. Its main story is estimated at 50 to 70 hours, which at Ploud means between €134 and €188 of console time on the 160-hour tier, excluding the price of the game, which customers buy themselves on the PlayStation Store.

The service-by-service detail is in the comparisons, and the legal framework of renting in renting or buying a PS5.
