Ploud or PlayStation Plus Premium
PlayStation Plus Premium is Sony's own streaming service, at €16.99 per month. It gives you access to a selection of PlayStation titles. The key word is selection: it is not your library, and new releases are not added.

What Sony gets right with Premium
Sony operates it, so the integration is seamless: your account, trophies and cloud saves are all in one place. The classic catalogue, especially the PS1, PS2 and PSP back catalogue, exists nowhere else. The subscription also covers online multiplayer, which a PlayStation player pays for anyway.
A selection is not a complete catalogue
PS Plus Premium streaming does not cover new releases. A game released on 19 November 2026 will not enter a subscription catalogue on release day, and GTA 6 will not enter it at all: Rockstar sells games, it does not rent them. The six single-player exclusives that Sony has confirmed it is keeping on console have not been announced for streaming either.

When to get PS Plus Premium
If you want to explore the PlayStation back catalogue, PS Plus Premium is the only place it exists, and it costs less than an evening on a rented console. Many players will have both: the subscription for the catalogue, hours credit for the game of the moment.

Frequently asked questions
Will GTA 6 be on PlayStation Plus Premium?
No. Major new releases are not added to the streaming catalogue when they launch, and Rockstar has no reason to put GTA 6 there.
Does PS Plus Premium streaming include every exclusive?
No. It covers a selection chosen by Sony and publishers. The six single-player titles that Sony is keeping on console have not been announced for it.
Do you need PS Plus to use Ploud?
Only for online multiplayer, as on any PlayStation. Single-player mode does not require it.
Are the two complementary?
Yes, and this is the most common setup: the subscription for the back catalogue and multiplayer, hours credit for the game of the moment.

Ploud or Xbox Cloud Gaming
Xbox Cloud Gaming is the only major service that streams console games rather than PC games, making it the closest to Ploud in principle. Everything else sets them apart: a licensed catalogue on one side, your own library on the other.

No service streams the PlayStation 5 catalogue as a whole. PlayStation Plus Premium offers a selection subject to publisher agreement, and PC services like GeForce Now only have access to games that exist on PC. For the rest, you need a console.

Sony confirmed in 2026 that six of its first-party single-player games would stay on console: Gran Turismo 7, Astro Bot, Ghost of Yōtei, Saros, Marvel's Wolverine and God of War Laufey. GTA 6 effectively joins them, as no PC version has been announced.
