How much GTA 6 really costs
GTA 6 sells for €79.99 in the Standard edition and €99.99 in the Ultimate edition. The game is only half the bill: without a console, you must add €649.99 for a PlayStation 5 Slim, the official price since 2 April 2026.

The boxed version deserves a line of its own. Rockstar has confirmed it contains a download code rather than a disc. It cannot be resold, and it downloads like the digital version. The detail is in the pre-order guide.

The trade-off is not ideological, it is arithmetic. Above a certain number of hours per year, buying works out cheaper. Below it, the console sits idle and still costs you. The full calculation, with the threshold, is in renting or buying a PS5.

GTA 6 pre-orders have been open since 25 June 2026: €79.99 for the Standard edition, €99.99 for the Ultimate edition. They give access to the 12 November preload. The box sold in shops contains no disc, only a code.

Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on Thursday 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. Preload opens a week earlier, on 12 November. No PC version is announced: on release day, you need a console.
