Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on Thursday 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. Preload opens a week earlier, on 12 November. No PC version is announced: on release day, you need a console.

Two delays preceded this date. The game was first announced for 2025, then dated 26 May 2026, before being pushed back to 19 November. The November date is the one that now appears on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store listings, and pre-orders have been open since 25 June.
The 12 November preload, and why it matters
In a press release dated 24 June 2026, Rockstar Games states that players who pre-ordered a digital edition will be able to start preloading on 12 November. The boxed version is affected too: it contains no disc, only a download code.
In other words, however you buy GTA 6, you download the game. Rockstar has not disclosed its size. A seven-day head start is more than enough, even on a modest connection, and avoids overloaded servers on launch day.
No preload exists before 12 November. Any file, key or beta offered before then is a scam.
What time GTA 6 unlocks
Rockstar has not published an unlock time. On PlayStation and Xbox, a game dated 19 November usually unlocks at midnight, local time, on the 19th. That is custom, not a promise: until Rockstar confirms, the only certainty is the date.
On 19 November, you need a console
GTA 6 comes out on PS5 and Xbox Series. No PC version has been announced, and no mainstream cloud gaming service can offer it, having no PC version to stream. The detail is explained in GTA 6 on PC and in the cloud gaming services comparison.
A PS5 Slim has cost €649.99 since 2 April 2026. Ploud rents by the hour a physical PlayStation 5 hosted in France, which you play from your Mac, your PC or your TV. You bring your PlayStation Network account and your copy of the game: Ploud never supplies a game.
