Play PS5 games on an LG TV
LG TVs run webOS, with a built-in browser and gaming portal. Neither provides the Play Store or Moonlight. A €30 box fixes that, while the screen is an asset.

What OLED really adds
LG's OLED panels bring a measurable benefit to remote gaming: pixel response time is around one millisecond, versus several milliseconds on an LCD, and webOS Game mode is one of the most comprehensive on the market. With a compressed video stream, absolute contrast also makes dark areas easier to distinguish, where compression does the most damage.
webOS, the same restriction as Tizen
webOS is closed like Tizen. LG's gaming portal brings together partner services, none of which streams PlayStation exclusives. The built-in browser varies by model year and handles controllers poorly. OLED has its own caveat: a static gaming interface displayed for hours can cause burn-in, so do not leave a menu on screen all evening.
What to do
- Enable Game mode, or Game Optimiser, on the HDMI input in use
- Try the built-in browser with a paired controller
- Otherwise, connect a Google TV box and install Moonlight
- On OLED, avoid leaving a static image displayed for long periods

Frequently asked questions
Does LG's gaming portal provide access to PS5 games?
No. It brings together partner cloud gaming services, none of which streams PlayStation exclusives.
Can Moonlight be installed on an LG TV?
No, webOS does not provide access to the Play Store. A Google TV box via HDMI removes the limitation.
Does an OLED panel make a difference?
Yes. Pixel response time is around one millisecond, and the contrast helps you see dark areas, which video compression degrades the most.
Should you worry about screen burn-in?
On OLED, a static image displayed for hours can cause burn-in. A game menu left up all evening falls into that category; normal gameplay does not.
